Dr Wong removes a small amount of enamel to ensure a proper and tight fit. We create a temporary dental veneer to protect your tooth from sensitivity while your permanent veneer is fabricated.
Once it is completed, we trim and reshape the veneer so that it fits perfectly before bonding it. During your dental checkups with Dr James Wong, we examine your restoration to see how well the gums are responding to the veneer and if there are any issues.
Your Veneer Aftercare
Veneers will likely need to be replaced due to wear and tear, but proper care can extend their shelf life:
- Twice-yearly dental checkups allow us to identify potential issues.
- Avoid chewing on hard foods, candy, ice, fingernails, or pens and pencils.
- Please don't use your teeth as a tool, even though they are convenient when there are no scissors around.
- Always keep up your oral hygiene by brushing and flossing daily.
